• 07.10.2021: QUEEN ELIZABETH BANS SHEIKH MAKTOUM FROM ASCOT ROYAL BOX
It has been reported that The Queen will no longer play host to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the Royal Box at Ascot, following a ruling by a judge that he had ordered the phone hacking of his ex-wife Princess Haya and a Tory peer.
It is understood the 72-year-old Dubai ruler will not be back in the prestigious spot alongside Her Majesty at the races, despite years of previous engagments. The Queen is a longstanding friend of both the Sheikh Maktoum and Princess Haya, the Oxford-educated daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan and she has accepted several horses from the Sheikh even after he was accused in 2019 of kidnapping daughters Princess Shamsa and Princess Latifa.
