26.02.2017; Hollywood, USA: PWC BLUNDER OSCAR AWARDS - FAYE DUNAWAY ANNOUNCES THE WRONG WINNER (from envelope marked “Actress In A Leading Role“) AS WARREN BEATTY LOOKS ON
For the first time in the 88-year history of the Oscars the wrong picture was announced as the winner of the Best Picture Award. Instead of "Moonlight" being announced as the winner, La LA Land was declared the winner by presenter Faye Dunaway.
It appears the fault was that of the accountants Price Waterhouse Coopers whose representatives Martha Ruiz and Brian Cullinan are the onle people who know the results of the winners prior to the event.
In a statement issued by the PWC they have apologised for their error.
Pictures Shows: The young actor from "Moonlight" standing beside Warren Beatty is in a complete state of astonishment at the blunder that occured.
